About Our Organisation

We are the peak non-government organisation for carers in New South Wales, part of the National Carer Network, and a member of Carers Australia. Our exclusive focus is on supporting and advocating for all carers, regardless of their age, location, life-stage, or circumstances. We cater to those caring for family members and/or friends with disabilities, mental illness, health-related conditions, drug and alcohol issues, and frailty due to ageing.

The Board oversees our activities, drawing on the expertise and insights of Directors to achieve our strategic priorities.

Eligibility Criteria
  • You must have demonstrated experience in academic policy development and research within the human services and/or not-for-profit sector.
  • You must possess one or more of the following general skills, competencies, and/or experience:

- Lived experience and/or representation of the following demographic groups: carers, rural/ regional residents, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, young people (18-25 years), or those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

- Leadership, vision, and ability to champion our vision.

- Understanding of effective corporate governance principles, including strategic planning and direction-setting.

- Sound knowledge of accounting and finance.

- Experience in developing strategies and building new revenue sources.

- Ability to build partnerships, both corporate and government.
