About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mining Engineer to join our team at Mt Arthur Mine Site in the Hunter Valley Region. As a Specialist Mining Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in mine planning, providing safe and efficient designs, schedules, and project management to support operational and functional teams.

This is a full-time role located in the beautiful Hunter Valley, offering a rewarding career based in a sought-after lifestyle location. The role is offered as a Monday-to-Friday work week.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop safe and efficient excavation and dump designs.
  • Support and develop efficient mine schedules.
  • Manage various projects related to mine planning and interact with different stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with different teams throughout Mt Arthur to deliver key schedule and planning objectives.
  • Effectively communicate mine planning and project outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Pursue continuous improvement opportunities throughout your day-to-day work.
  • Complete reconciliations to ensure accuracy in your work.
  • Manage risk through the application of geotechnical controls in both design and scheduling.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong working knowledge and/or experience base across the following aspects:

  • A high level of competence in mining software applications used for planning and scheduling, including Deswik and/or Vulcan (CAD software), SPRY (or equivalent) scheduling software.
  • SPRY (or equivalent) scheduling software.
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Excel & Word.
  • Experience in opencut mining, with drill and blast, mine planning and scheduling exposure. Exposure to through-seam mining is highly regarded.
  • A high level of competence in mining software applications used for planning and scheduling, with Spry and Deswik highly regarded.
