About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team at Everyday Independence. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering best-practice, person-centered support to individuals who use challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all PBS practices and interventions are compliant with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Use research evidence and professional reasoning to recommend the most appropriate PBS therapy strategies.
  • Identify and develop efficient processes and systems within the delivery of PBS services.
  • Develop effective working alliances with individuals and their families to identify factors affecting a working alliance.
  • Enhance the capacity of individuals to make their own life choices and increase their independence.

Requirements
  • AHPRA registration (for Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Nurses).
  • Full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (for Social Workers).
  • Current membership with DEAI (for Developmental Educators).
  • Deemed suitability or willingness to obtain suitability as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Passion for allied health and a strong advocacy for removing barriers using the social model of therapy.
  • Empathy and understanding, with an open and non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check.
  • Valid driver's license.
