We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated research professional to join our team as a Research Associate.

About the Role

The successful candidate will conduct innovative biological and ecological research on Antarctic krill through marine fieldwork and controlled aquarium experiments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-quality research under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a team.
  • Develop and implement research projects focusing on Antarctic krill biology and ecology.
Requirements
  • A PhD in a relevant field such as marine biology or a related discipline.
  • Strong research background in laboratory and ship-based marine biology, demonstrated by a record of quality publications and presentations at conferences.
  • Ability to effectively culture and maintain marine invertebrates.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for data interpretation.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of Theme 3: The Future of Antarctic Sea Ice, Krill and Ecosystems. They will study climate change impacts, including ocean acidification, on Antarctic krill physiology and contribute to the development of scientific reports and peer-reviewed journals.
