Genomics Research Opportunity
An exciting career development chance is available for a researcher to join an Immunology Division at Australia's leading biomedical research institute.
About the RoleThis position supports an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander researcher to build hands-on lab experience, learn genomic sequencing techniques, explore Indigenous health research, and contribute to closing the healthcare gap in genomics.
- Develop hands-on lab experience.
- Learn advanced genomic sequencing techniques.
- Explore Indigenous health research with focus on diagnosis.
- Contribute to improving genomic healthcare outcomes.
The fellowship offers flexibility to accommodate the academic and career level of the successful candidate. A bespoke work schedule, including remote work, can be tailored to suit individual needs.
Essential Criteria- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Be a postgraduate clinician, health professional, early-mid career researcher, or PhD student who has completed confirmation of candidature.
- Have a background in biology, genetics, biotechnology, health and medical sciences or another relevant discipline and want to expand knowledge in Indigenous genomics.
- Have exposure to laboratory environments.
- Be available to undertake the Fellowship in Melbourne, Australia (work-from-home/remote flexibility available).
