Role Opportunity: Experienced Psychiatrist - Virtual Care Centre

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team in a virtual care centre. As a staff specialist, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop tailored interventions for patients.

The successful candidate will work on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE) and provide services across multiple sites as agreed with the Director of Medical Services and approved by relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence-based mental health rehabilitation programs for low-volume caseloads of participants.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualised treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support.
  • Engage in quality improvement activities and participate in research relevant to the role and needs of the department.
  • Mentor and supervise junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and training programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
  • Demonstrated subspecialty training in Psychiatry.
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
