Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Site Security Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic oversight of protective security across governance, personnel and physical security.

This role requires a high level of expertise in security risk management, incident management, and crisis management principles. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong experience in Microsoft Office packages.

The Site Security Specialist will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the implementation of security policies and procedures, conduct regular threat and risk assessments, and provide training to staff on security protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Advice and Incident Response: Provide expert advice on security matters and respond to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Security Policy Development: Develop and maintain security policies and plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security threats and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Security Audits: Conduct regular security audits to ensure business activities remain within required accreditation or regulatory standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external accreditation and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Investigations and Incident Response: Conduct investigations and incident responses in critical circumstances to maintain protection of our operations and staff.
About You
  • Australian citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
  • Defence Security Officer Course or similar (desired).
  • Knowledge of incident management, investigations and crises management principles (Essential).
  • Strong experience in all Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint (Desired).
  • Demonstrate experience in Defence security or security processes and procedures (Essential).
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders (Desired).
