Freight Handler Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Handler Supervisor to join our Fremantle team.

As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless access to terminal facilities 24/7.

This role requires shift work across 7 days a week, with shifts notified 1 day in advance through an automated system or online portal.

You will initially be employed on a casual basis, with no guarantee of shifts.

As a General Stevedore, you will work outdoors and perform three main tasks:

• Lashing – This involves using heavy rigging equipment to secure shipping containers to the deck of a ship.
• Pins – This involves locking and unlocking heavy twist locks to secure containers together and to the deck of a ship.
• ITV (Internal Transfer Vehicles) – Driving automatic internal road trucks with 40ft capacity from STS cranes to positions within the terminal for discharge and loading.

A 2-week initial induction and training program will be provided, including training on lashing and pins.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience, skills, and qualifications:

• A current and valid driver's license
• A current and valid forklift license (LF) - desirable
• Experience driving heavy machinery
• Experience with shift work
• Experience with physical work or laboring

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
