Job Title: Disability Support Specialist

This role involves providing support to students with disabilities in a secondary school setting.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualised plans that promote student engagement and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to students with disabilities in the classroom and during extracurricular activities;
  • Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) that cater to the diverse needs of students;
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure seamless delivery of support services across the school;
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators to ensure effective implementation of IEPs;
  • Participate in professional learning and growth opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support and education.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks;
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others in a team environment;
  • Effective communication skills in a team environment;
  • Technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position;
  • Ability to provide advice and support to management and other school staff;
  • Commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.
