The purpose of this role is to provide expert guidance in operational risk measurement and management at Westpac Group. As a Senior Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective strategies for managing operational risk. This includes supporting compliance with regulatory requirements, identifying emerging risks, and providing data-driven insights to inform business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the Executive Manager Operational Risk Measurement in developing and implementing operational risk measurement strategies.
  • Informing the assessment of existing and emerging operational risks through historical loss analysis and forward-looking scenario analysis.
  • Managing the reconciliation process for Internal Loss Data (ILD), ensuring General Ledger and JUNO are in sync with the financial impact of losses.
  • Managing submissions of ILD data to ORX and maintaining External Loss Data (ELD) received from ORX.
  • Providing data analytics and insights-based reporting on ILD and ELD data to create a loss data experience analysis story.

Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A relevant undergraduate degree from a recognised university.
  • At least 3 years' experience in data analysis or quantitative modelling.
  • Experience working in financial services.
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • High-level proficiency with data tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL.
  • Demonstrable experience leading change initiatives.
  • Knowledge of risk management disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience in risk measurement or capital management is an advantage.
