Instrumentation and Control Specialist

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team as a Instrumentation and Control Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the reliability of instrumentation, control, and computer systems at Eraring Power Station.
  • Provide technical services to meet performance objectives.
  • Perform duties to maintain maximum availability of revenue-producing plant and auxiliaries in a manner without compromising personnel and plant safety or life expectancy of equipment.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments and their practical implementation at Eraring Power Station.
  • Train staff on new and existing control, instrumentation, computer, and protective systems.
  • Execute routine maintenance in accordance with requirements and advise of changes considered appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Relevant background with completion of an electrical trades course.
  • Electrical Supervisor or Contractors License.
  • Strong analytical and technical interpretive capability with strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills and a safety-first mindset.
  • Knowledge of plant systems and associated procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical and operational awareness.
  • Commitment to safety & the environment and ability to implement and promote safety and risk management approach within the team.
  • Ability to be innovative and display good communication skills.
  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or willingness to obtain either qualification.
