Capability Delivery Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Capability Design and Delivery section. This team plays a pivotal role in driving technological advancement across the department, responsible for end-to-end delivery of new ICT initiatives, fostering innovation, and executing major enhancement projects that align with strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing relevant teams, including APS and contractors, ensuring planning, monitoring, and delivery of the team and section's work program.
  • Guide, support, develop, and mentor staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with the APS values.
  • Support the coordination of projects to be delivered on time, within quality standards, and meeting stakeholder expectations.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships, manage expectations, and negotiate solutions.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, risks, and benefits realisation to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate the use of specialist resources on projects, including internal and external contractors, consultants, and other ICT teams.
  • Ensure project alignment with agency strategic objectives and government priorities.

The successful candidate will have experience in leading teams, managing projects, and developing skills in innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions:

This role is open to Commonwealth employees only and is located in Adelaide SA, Brisbane QLD, Canberra ACT, Darwin NT, Hobart TAS, Melbourne VIC, Sydney NSW.
