Job Summary
The Department of Education is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the role of Education Support Class Position at Bacchus Marsh College. This position will provide support to teachers and students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning of student routines and supporting communication between teachers and parents.
- Support the coordination of educational programs, including rostering and organizing the work of a team of aides, providing routine coordination, guidance, and support to other student support staff.
- Communicate with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information, and address immediate behavioral presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting.
- Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, such as toileting, meals, and lifting, and provide medical intervention support to students under specific conditions.
- Support teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision, including liaising with external providers of support services about clearly defined support needs and resources.
Requirements
- Individuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to work in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment, with a focus on providing high-quality support to teachers and students. The role will involve working in a team environment, communicating with students and staff, and providing support in a variety of settings.
