About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Tassal Group's Proserpine site. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and systems.

The successful candidate will work as part of a skilled electrical team to maintain optimal efficiency, safety, and reliability across the site. This is a dynamic and hands-on role that requires a proactive and technically minded individual who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

You will work a 2/2/3 roster, offering a great work-life balance with a long weekend every other weekend. Shifts are 12 hours, and the role includes an on-call component to support operations as needed.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnose issues, and test, repair, and maintain electrical equipment, components, and systems.
  • Work with PLC and SCADA-based systems, network cabling (fibre and copper), variable speed drives, large generators, LV power distribution, and instrumentation.
  • Interpret electrical schematics to ensure effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues to minimise downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Uphold safety standards and contribute to our Zero Harm culture.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous industrial electrical experience.
  • Exposure to PLC and SCADA systems (desirable).
  • High voltage experience (desirable).
  • A system-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment.
  • A respectful, empathetic, and outcomes-focused approach, paired with a strong work ethic.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • Full-time working rights in Australia.
