Life Without Barriers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant. This is a casual opportunity that requires a willingness to travel and support multiple clients in the Mackay and surrounding suburbs.
About the Role
As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will be responsible for providing personalized support to older Australians within their home. This includes domestic assistance, personal care, community access, and supporting with tasks and routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with clients and their families
- Provide domestic assistance, including meal preparation and light house cleaning
- Assist with personal care, including grooming and showering
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and social activities
- Support clients with tasks and routines, promoting independence and dignity
Requirements
- Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
- Passionate about making a positive impact in the ageing community
Benefits
- Casual hourly rate from $36.17 per hour + Super + 0.92 cents per kilometre
