The Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in the provision of person-centred care; and leading, supporting and supervising other nurses/midwives and care roles. Where You'll be Working

You will be working on Ward 2 West, an 18 bed Surgical unit that specialises in Ophthalmology and Hand surgery. You will also have the opportunity to work in the hand clinic which is co-located next to the ward.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse that applies to medical/surgical and/or emergency or perioperative clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and be able to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
  • Current computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement person-centred practice.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload.
