Excelsia College is seeking experienced professionals to join our team as Field Education Specialists. As a Field Education Specialist, you will provide specialized support to students undertaking field education components of study, fostering their ability to integrate theory to practice and critically reflect on diverse needs and situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality, value-added education to students, promoting their ability to integrate theory to practice and critically reflect on diverse needs and situations.
  • Monitor student professional development and academic performance throughout the placement.
  • Consult with the Field Education Coordinator and student/s about placement structure, learning goals, and assessment processes.
Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, applicants must address the selection criteria below and attach their response as a separate document in the application process.

Qualifications and Professional Standing
  • Eligible for full membership of the AASW with a minimum two years full-time post-qualifying practice experience.
Essential
  • An understanding of current and emerging trends in Social Work and training.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues from diverse cultural, religious, gender, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • A keen awareness of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities in various contexts, and support student learning and engagement with these diverse populations.
  • Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools and previous experience in online education is desirable.
  • Evidence of a capacity to contribute to effective administration.
