The Role & Team

We're seeking a talented Software Engineering Specialist to join our Compass Product team. Reporting to the Development Team Lead, you will work collaboratively with engineers, product owners, designers, and stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy new functionalities, support existing features, and enhance site scalability.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable software that meets the needs of our global user base.
  • Inspiring quality and best practices through championing software craftsmanship, clean code, and pair programming.
  • BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR TEAM MEMBERS, SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS AND FEEDBACK GENEROUSLY (AND BEING OPEN TO RECEIVING IT TOO).
  • GROWING, LEARNING, AND THRIVING IN A DYNAMIC TEAM COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING YOU AND HELPING YOU SUCCEED.
  • MENTORING FELLOW COLLEAGUES AND DRIVING ARCHITECTURAL STRATEGY BY EMPLOYING INDUSTRY-BEST PRACTICES AND FOLLOWING COMPASS SOFTWARE ENGINEERING GUIDELINES.
  • CULTIVATING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION WITH OUR CUSTOMERS TO UNDERSTAND THEIR NEEDS, WORKING CLOSELY WITH PRODUCT OWNERS AND DESIGNERS TO SHAPE PRODUCTS THAT ADDRESS THEIR CHALLENGES.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE (1+ YEARS) IN OBJECT-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES (C#, MS.NET).
  • REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE (1+ YEARS) IN FRONTEND JAVASCRIPT LIBRARIES AND FRAMEWORKS (REACT.JS, NODE.JS, TYPESCRIPT).
  • A KEEN ATTITUDE TO DEVELOP HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS WITH OTHER TALENTED DEVELOPERS.
  • A PASSION FOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT AND AN INTEREST IN ACTIVELY KEEPING UP-TO-DATE WITH NEW TECH.
  • EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH SQL/NOSQL DATABASES SUCH AS MONGODB AND COMFORT WITH DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING DATABASE SOLUTIONS.
