Job Role

The Maintenance Officer Gardener plays a pivotal role in ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of residents by maintaining the building and grounds of our state-of-the-art facility. This position requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a supportive approach towards aged care residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the building and grounds to a high standard by performing various tasks using tools and equipment.
  • Advise on replacements or repairs as required to ensure optimal functioning of facilities.
  • Supervise and monitor grounds and systems to prevent any potential issues.
  • Contribute to resident support by delivering quality service with respect to dignity and privacy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in building maintenance and gardening, landscaping is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Aged Care industry is beneficial.
  • Thorough understanding of OH&S and Fire/Evacuation requirements is essential.
  • Ability to perform tasks using tools and equipment, good communication skills, and respect for residents and colleagues are crucial.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited direction and make decisions about costs and priorities.
  • Supportive approach towards aged care residents with care and privacy.
Essential Criteria
  • Valid Victoria driver's license.
  • Reliable, strong work ethic.
  • Valid police check (less than 12 months old).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade qualification (e.g., Landscaping) or OHS qualification is advantageous.
