Green Space Maintenance Leader

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in zero turn mowing and brush cutting, with a strong focus on maintaining high standards of lawn care. This role requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and to effectively communicate instructions to others.

  • We are seeking an experienced Team Leader who can oversee maintenance and enhancement of green spaces across our council-controlled roadsides and open spaces within Logan.

About The Role:

  • Lead a team of professionals in maintaining and enhancing green spaces.
  • Operate various mowing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and perform regular inspections on equipment.
  • Ensure lawns and green spaces are maintained to a high standard.
  • Complete service requests as required.

Requirements:

  • A valid Manual Drivers Licence is essential for this position.
  • A White Card is also required for working in construction sites.
  • ACDC licence is highly regarded but not necessary.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team and/or individually.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions ranging from hot summer days to cooler winter months.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage a team of maintenance staff to achieve objectives and meet performance targets.
  • To maintain and improve the quality of green spaces across council-controlled roadsides and open spaces.

About You:

  • Previous experience in maintenance or landscaping.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • High level of reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
