About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mining Consultant to join our team at Mining Plus. As a key member of our Surface Engineering division, you will be responsible for managing projects across various commodities and geographies, working with clients ranging from emerging miners to major industry players.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical advice and oversight to ensure projects are executed with excellence, on budget, and on schedule.
  • Conduct mining studies, including Scoping, Pre-feasibility, and Feasibility, to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize project outcomes.
  • Author and peer-review technical reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Mentor Consultants and oversee project contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Drive business improvements and support business development activities to grow our client base and expand our services.
  • Actively leverage and advocate for industry-leading technology to support implementation engagements and collaboration with our partner groups.
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, working with professionals to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts to secure new business and expand our services.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of mining-technical experience, with a strong background in open-pit mining.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant operational mining experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Mine Planning software, such as Geovia, Deswik, or Datamine.
  • Must be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Qualified Person (CP) under JORC or NI 63101.
  • Ability to lead technical teams with a practical approach to achieving technical excellence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write proposals, technical reports, and project correspondence.
  • Proven ability to generate chargeable work and build client relationships.
  • Consulting experience highly valued.
