Mid-Senior Physiotherapy Coordinator Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join our team as a Weekend Coordinator. This exciting opportunity will see you working alongside a dedicated allied health and clinical team that provides an inpatient physiotherapy service.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical support and leadership of the Physiotherapy team, with the support of the senior physiotherapy team.
  • This role requires senior level clinical skills across the field of orthopaedic physiotherapy, as well as a high level of familiarity with patient flow, expected outcomes and the expectations of Medical and Nursing staff within our healthcare setting.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to make autonomous decisions regarding patient prioritisation, and treatment objectives and strategies in an efficient and safe manner.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical guidance to physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants working in orthopaedics.
  • Receive and appropriately triage new orthopaedic weekend referrals.
  • Manage and coordinate physiotherapy services during weekend shifts.
  • Coordinate ward handovers on orthopaedic wards.
  • Clinical management of weekend staff in orthopaedics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent and current registration with Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in an acute hospital setting.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • A flexible and positive approach to work.
