About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and skilled driver to join our team at Fyshwick Salvos Stores. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate collection of goods from donor properties, clothing banks, and stores.
- Loading and unloading loose goods, including furniture items;
- Performing labouring tasks with a jockey to lift and carry reasonable weights;
- Distribution of goods to stores and assisting retail staff where required;
- Maintaining a professional customer relations experience for our customers;
- Using an electronic device to complete delivery paperwork;
- Maintaining safe WHS methods and driving practices;
- Completing prestart checks, reporting incidents, near misses, and vehicle maintenance issues;
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle provided.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have good time management skills, reliability, and a can-do attitude. Previous experience in multi-drop, courier, or furniture removal is highly regarded but not essential.
You will be a well-presented, high-energy individual who can provide extraordinary customer service. Experience in safe preparation, loading, and unloading of goods is also essential. Additionally, as someone known for your integrity, you will be comfortable aligning to The Salvation Army Mission and Values.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience operating a medium rigid vehicle (MR LICENSE);
- Current Australian drivers licence / Medium Rigid licence (or above);
- Confident driving skills and a proven safety record;
- Multi-drop, courier, and/or furniture removal experience an advantage;
- Reasonable written and oral communication skills;
- Organisational and problem-solving skills;
- Right to work in Australia.
