Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to join our Investment Operations Department. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and completeness of information on our clients' investments and facilitating the production of accurate tax statements.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and respond to taxation and technical queries from internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute significantly to our year-end tax project
- Stay up-to-date with taxation changes and assist with enhancements as required
- Review and process taxable components for income received on our platform
- Process complex transactions in client accounts
- Prepare special purpose reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Process cost base adjustments and non-resident, no-TFN withholding cases
- Lead ad-hoc tasks or projects as specified by your manager or team lead
- Strong working knowledge of ASX securities, international assets, bonds, managed funds, and other unlisted investments
- Understanding of taxation implications for different income and capital transactions and their impact across various entity types
- Self-motivated with a keen desire to work collaboratively to achieve common goals
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to generating creative solutions to problems and improving our services
- Attention to detail, including clarifying task details, checking inputs and outputs for accuracy and completeness, and following established procedures
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust language and terminology to suit different audiences
- Experience with Excel and MS Office products
- IDPS/Super platform or finance industry experience highly regarded
- 5 years' experience in a taxation-focused role
- CA or CPA qualification highly regarded
