We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Deregistration Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for handling enquiries related to company deregistration, assessing simple applications such as property transfers and mortgage discharges, preparing submissions for the Property Law Delegate, and responding to legal proceedings served on ASIC regarding deregistered companies.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team that exercises ASIC's functions and powers under Ch. 5A of the Corporations Act 2001 in relation to the property of deregistered companies. As a Deregistration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of the financial system and protecting consumers from harm.
About You
To thrive in this role, you should have a tertiary qualification in law from a recognised institution. Your knowledge and exposure to various areas of law, especially property law and conveyancing, will enable you to interpret and apply legislation administered by ASIC, including the Corporations Act 2001. Additionally, your ability to quickly acquire knowledge of property law legislation across all Australian jurisdictions will be essential in ensuring your success in this position.
Required Skills and Qualifications
You should possess well-developed written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to effectively communicate with stakeholders and prepare submissions for the Property Law Delegate. Your capacity to prioritise work and meet deadlines will also be crucial in this role. Furthermore, you must be able to interpret legislation and adapt to new legal frameworks, ensuring your success in this position.
