About the Role

Edmen Community Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to children and young people living in out-of-home care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a Safe and Supportive Environment: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities, promoting their social and educational development.
  • Promote Growth and Development: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community, helping young people to reach their full potential.
  • Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting, ensuring the health and well-being of young people in our care.
  • Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months, enhancing your skills and knowledge in supporting young people.
Requirements
  • A Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar qualification.
  • An Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher).
  • A personal vehicle with comprehensive insurance and QLD vehicle road safety certificate.
  • A Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • A Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • The ability to work a mixture of short, long, split, and transport shifts.
