The Dolby Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team in developing innovative audio/video streaming applications and libraries for iOS and Android devices. This is a challenging technical role that requires expertise in iOS and/or Android media stack, audio/video capture, playback, and streaming.

About the Role

This position demands a candidate with strong software design and process principles, able to work against technical and schedule challenges. As a senior engineer, you will lead and contribute to the definition of SDK architecture, software design, code reviews, and bug fixes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, Design, Develop, and Deliver: iOS and/or Android native audio/video capture, playback, and streaming applications and libraries;
  • Lead and Contribute: In high-quality SDK architecture definition, software design, code reviews, and bug fixes;
  • Collaborate with Teams: Serve as a Mobile SDK development expert in project scrum teams, evangelize industry best software development processes, and mentor junior members;
  • Anticipate and Mitigate Risks: Anticipate and mitigate potential issues and risks in projects;
  • Document Requirements: Document requirements, software manuals, and test procedures in collaboration with scrum teams;
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field;
  • 8+ years' solid commercial experience developing native iOS and/or Android apps;
  • Professional experience using iOS and/or Android Media frameworks;
  • Experience using JSON and REST-based APIs for mobile applications;
  • Able to own and lead development projects in an Agile Environment;
