The Role
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Specialist to join our team in Mount Isa, Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert technical knowledge and services for underground drilling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide internal technical assistance to resolve issues for our customers.
- Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment.
- Mentor peers and upskill our workshop technical knowledge of underground drills.
- Actively lead major workshop scoped works and machine builds, providing a high level of technical diagnosis and repairs.
- Perform mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation is not compromised.
- Provide feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
- Provide technical support to service personnel, providing high-level technical experience in cases of complex technical issues.
- Provide relevant feedback to the Workshop Supervisor and relevant stakeholders to enable improvements to the workshop and its capacity.
- Assist in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims for our local customers.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate, or an equivalent qualification, and have at least 7 years of post-trade experience in the underground mining sector.
