About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Project Lead to join our team at Ausenco. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering civil engineering design projects in remote and challenging terrain, ensuring timely and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver civil engineering design projects according to required timeframes and standards.
  • Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with engineers and designers.
  • Supervise the performance of civil engineers, review deliverables, and provide high-level technical expertise as applicable.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other disciplines to provide input in site selection and layout optimization of mining projects.
  • Coordinate resources across different Ausenco offices in various time zones.
  • Contribute to cost-efficient delivery of civil engineering by managing project budgets and reviewing capital cost estimates.
  • Evaluate tenders from a technical standpoint by applying multi-disciplinary knowledge and experience.
  • Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrated success as a Lead civil design engineer, ideally in an EPCM environment.
  • Extensive experience in Earthworks, Roadworks, and Drainage design engineering in a relevant industry, such as mining, mineral processing, materials handling, and heavy industrial.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues efficiently using personal knowledge, external consultants, and in-house experience.
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
  • An in-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in design of mining facilities, with a proven ability to conceptualize project layouts and optimize designs.
  • Hands-on experience with 12D, AutoCad, or Civil 3D and other modeling software is a plus.
  • Proven ability to enable strong team performance through coaching and developing teams.
  • Ability to complete performance reviews on study and project personnel.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with well-developed written and oral English language skills.
  • Chartered status is a strong asset, but not essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively.
