Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Shoppa's + John Deere in Victoria. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Diagnostic and Repair Work: Perform repairs and diagnostics requiring extensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and principles.
  2. Equipment Maintenance: Complete repairs of equipment correctly and efficiently, and identify additional repairs needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
  3. Training and Development: Participate in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, and maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  4. Inventory Management: Maintain the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment, and ensure a clean work area.
  5. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments, and complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  6. Time and Material Management: Account for all time and for all material used in performing assigned duties.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 2+ years of experience performing machine service repairs.
  2. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred.
  3. Skills and Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of equipment, and ability to use basic computer functions.
  4. Physical Demands: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly, and valid drivers license required.
  5. Background Check: Pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
