Job Title: Senior Geospatial Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geospatial Data Engineer to join our team at the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. As a key member of our Geoscience Data & Technology branch, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing geospatial data management systems, providing technical advice and assistance to internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the modernization and integration of departmental systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement geospatial data management systems, including data design, integration, and exchange.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to internal and external stakeholders on geospatial data management and analytics.
  • Contribute to the modernization and integration of departmental systems, including the use of programming and scripting tools.
  • Lead the formulation of new and improved products and processes, and assist in staff training and development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree qualification in Data Science or Spatial Science.
  • Extensive experience in data management, analytics, integration, and exchange.
  • Substantial experience in data analytics and integrations application/methodology/scripting language, including Python, ESRI suites, FME, and/or application programming interface (API).
