The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Laboratory Analyst to join our Chemistry Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a wide range of routine, specialized, and complex tests, including variable tests, calibration, and maintenance of instruments. They will also be responsible for interpreting test results, performing calculations, and applying the principles of measurement uncertainty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct variable tests according to SOPs and methods, processing and checking results
- Assist with routine calibration and maintenance of instruments
- Prioritize work to meet daily deadlines
- Interpret test results and perform calculations
- Apply the principles of measurement uncertainty
- Apply the quality system and continuous improvement processes
- Maintain workplace safety
- Review and release results to clients, provide training and guidance to junior staff
- Oversee the whole team's workflow and step up as second in charge when required
Requirements:
- Experience in HPLC, GC, or LCMS
- Minimum 2 years of Chemistry Lab experience
- Ability to conduct complex sample preparation
- Deep understanding of chemistry and instrumentation
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related discipline
- Familiarity with LIMS
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Capacity to work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrable knowledge of OHS requirements within a laboratory
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent time management
