About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic Inpatient Mental Health Team at South Western Sydney Local Health District.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality psychosocial assessments and interventions to consumers receiving mental health treatment in hospital. You will play a vital part in supporting patients through their recovery journey, including discharge planning and connecting them with community supports.

In this role, you will collaborate with fellow social workers and the broader multidisciplinary team, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and provide clinical supervision to junior staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced social worker to make a meaningful impact in inpatient mental health care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist social work service to consumers and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes
  • Participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities, and other departmental duties
Requirements
  • A social work degree that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Extensive postgraduate experience working as a social worker in relevant clinical areas
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritizing a challenging workload, managing stressful situations, and applying advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgment
