We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Event Coordinator to join our team at The Law Society of NSW. This is a 12-month parental leave backfill opportunity that offers a challenging and rewarding role.

About the role

The Senior Event Coordinator will lead the planning and delivery of high-quality events, conferences, and meetings across various topics. You will work closely with key stakeholders to implement engaging and relevant events, both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to organize and execute events, conferences, and meetings.
  • Providing creative and logistical leadership to ensure events meet the highest standards, with meticulous attention to detail and budget management.
  • Developing an accurate and comprehensive event calendar that outlines recurring events and ad-hoc/special events for all business units.
  • Creating project plans for events to ensure timely completion of associated tasks, clear roles, and responsibilities among stakeholders.
  • Researching and sourcing venue and catering options for events, effectively communicating briefing papers and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Liaising with external venues and suppliers, negotiating sound agreements and offers.
  • Managing and administering approved event costs, maintaining accurate budgets, and processing supplier payments within guidelines.
  • Reporting event information, including budgets, attendance, and success, to key stakeholders.
  • Leading the performance of team members, conducting regular reviews, and providing coaching and development opportunities.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least five years' experience in organizing and executing events and conferences in a corporate/professional environment.
  • Previous experience managing a budget and negotiating with external clients.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to work under pressure with competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Events Air (or similar applications).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum, plus superannuation and benefits.
