The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team. As a Research Associate, you will play a key role in the design and advanced manufacture of carbon composite H2 tanks for heavy mobility.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the selection of materials for composites used in a proof-of-concept cryogenic composite tank.
- Develop storage system simulations to guide the design and manufacturing approaches of larger tanks for commercialisation.
- Collaborate with fellow researchers to develop industry research and professional activities.
- Participate in conferences and workshops to share research findings.
- Assist with the supervision of students and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- PhD (or equivalent) in a related discipline, such as Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proven commitment to staying up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and build effective relationships.
