About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English teacher to join our team at Brinbeal Secondary College. As a graduate teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a brand-new secondary school in the heart of the western suburbs, catering for the diversity of learners.

Our college is expanding, and we are excited to grow our team with a range of positions and opportunities available. You will be empowered by education support staff, teachers, and leaders in a highly collaborative workplace, with opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

The primary focus of this role is on further developing your skills and competencies to become an effective classroom practitioner. You will be responsible for teaching a range of students and classes, and will be accountable for the effective delivery of your programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and implementing a range of teaching programs or courses of study.
  • Teaching an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting student progress in key learning areas.
  • Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
  • Maintaining records of class attendance and recording student progress.
  • Implementing effective student management consistent with the school charter.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you will need to have:

  • Completed your teaching degree and graduated in the last 4 years.
  • Not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position is to commence.
  • Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
