Job Description

Senior Lecturer in Early Intervention/Psychology-Children are sought for a permanent full-time role at Macquarie. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the education and care of children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The successful candidate will have expertise in education, early intervention, and psychology, including experience in delivering and designing postgraduate educational courses, research, and clinical practice in these areas. They will be able to bridge across domains, teaching postgraduate courses in several areas, including normal language acquisition and language development for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key responsibilities include undertaking research in education and/or early intervention for deaf and hard of hearing children, providing leadership in developing new pre-service coursework, and mentoring staff with limited experience working with this population.

We are seeking a scholar with broad expertise and a sustained record of research and quality publications, with a growing national and/or international reputation and experience with research student supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A doctoral level qualification in education and/or psychology, or a relevant discipline.
  • Evidence of having delivered high-quality learning and teaching in one or more of the fields of education of the deaf, early intervention, and psychology.
  • Excellent skills as a practitioner in their relevant discipline, with the ability to supervise practical experience of teachers and/or early intervention professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Record of engagement and fostering relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Sustained record of research and quality publications, with a growing national and/or international reputation.
