Job Description

The Australian Financial Review is seeking a dynamic and experienced lifestyle journalist/editor to work with the Life & Leisure editor in commissioning, editing, and delivering compelling stories that captivate our audience both online and in print.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the editor to commission and edit lifestyle content, ensuring high-quality output weekly.
  • Develop innovative ways to engage readers.
  • Rewrite and edit articles, and undertake writing assignments.
  • Maximise digital content presentation, including SEO and effective headlines.
  • Maintain high editorial standards and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Work with digital and visual teams to enhance storytelling.
  • Coordinate with designers and photographers to enrich content.
  • Partner with the commercial team to explore advertising opportunities while preserving editorial integrity.
  • Cultivate relationships in lifestyle sectors for story development.
  • Represent The Australian Financial Review at lifestyle events.

Qualifications:

  • Proven lifestyle writing and editing experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Excellent writing, commissioning, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities for managing multiple projects and production processes.
