Casual Academics Opportunity

We are seeking highly skilled professionals to engage as Casual Academics in a teaching and delivery role at the School of Dentistry.

This position plays a vital part in enhancing the student experience, providing support for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

  • Deliver guest lectures, workshops, seminars, and tutorials.
  • Conduct marking of assessment tasks as directed by course coordinators, with hours for marking confirmed prior to commencing.

The successful appointees will be required to work at our Herston and St Lucia Campuses. On-campus attendance may be necessary.

The ideal candidate should possess relevant qualifications and experience within the dental industry. Postgraduate students with high-achieving coursework and research backgrounds are also invited to apply.

  1. Teaching and Delivery: Prepare and deliver educational content to enhance student learning outcomes.
  2. Assessment and Feedback: Conduct assessments and provide timely feedback to students, supporting their academic growth and development.

Benefits

  • Familiarity with legislation and University policies relevant to the duties undertaken.
  • Adherence to the University's Code of Conduct.
  • Requirements of Queensland occupational health and safety (OH&S) legislation and related OH&S responsibilities and procedures.
  • Awareness of sustainable practices and compliance with associated legislation and University sustainability responsibilities and procedures.
  • Understanding of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and the National Code 2007.
