Experienced Vehicle Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a skilled Leading Hand Mechanic to join our team at the Busways Heatherbrae Depot. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
Your main duties will include:
- Performing repairs on buses and other maintenance activities as required
- Overseeing major repair programs, including testing, fault finding, and quality assurance
- Conducting functional checks to ensure components are operational and vehicles are fit for service
- Providing on-the-job instruction, training, and coaching to staff for maintenance work, inventory requirements, and record documentation
- Developing the skills of the workshop team to maximise results
- Leading by example, representing the organisation in an honest, ethical, and professional manner according to the Busways Code of Conduct
- Maintaining all tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with Busways' standards
- Liaising with the Regional Assets Support Manager regarding buses off the road
- Assisting the Regional Assets Support Manager as needed, including managing leave requests and workshop staff
- Ensuring staff have adequate training to perform necessary tasks
- Raising purchase orders and processing invoices for payment
- Reporting and repairing all accident damage as required
- Performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
- Experience in the service and maintenance of vehicles (training provided to develop these skills)
- Adherence to safety standards and company policies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
- Proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
- Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or working rights in Australia

- $3000 SIGN ON BONUS INCENTIVE
- Average Annual Earnings: $125,000 (inclusive of super, allowances and benefits)
