Job Title

An exceptional opportunity exists to join our organization as a Cyber Security Manager, providing strategic leadership and collaborative oversight to safeguard critical systems and data.

About the Role

This role is embedded within our digital service and expected to interact at a senior level to provide functional, technical and/or process leadership. The position will serve as the key interface between the Cyber Security team function within our service and will increase the realised value and security of assets investments and capabilities.

Purpose and Objectives

The purpose of this role is to provide overall management, leadership and application of governance, and continuous improvement of cyber security frameworks, policies, and controls to protect critical digital systems, infrastructure and data in line with NSW Digital Information Security Policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional advice and recommendations to ensure that policy, awareness, and operations of Information Security conforms with ISO/IEC 27001 – Information Security Management (2013) Standards.
  • Ensure alignment of activities with our Strategic Plans, Digital Health Strategy and other strategic initiatives.
  • Develop security solutions to all digital information security challenges; and conduct risk and vulnerability assessments and undertake proactive research to identify and understand new threats, vulnerabilities and exploits impacting clients' environments.
Requirements

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in leading a team of information / cyber security specialists for development and governance of security solutions and operations aligned with ISO27001 and/or the NSW Government Cyber Security Policy including the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Essential 8 strategies to mitigate cyber security incidents.
  • Exceptional technical IT, analytical and security skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex technical concepts and translate them into actionable solutions, reports, and recommendations that support strategic planning and operational resilience.
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to constructively lead a team of information / cyber security specialists on a day-to-day basis and during major incidents.
