Rheinmetall Defence Australia's Software Engineer Virtual Experience is a comprehensive online program designed to provide you with a realistic glimpse into the world of software engineering. This 4-hour virtual experience is an excellent opportunity to test your skills, develop your professional abilities, and gain valuable insights into the software engineering role at Rheinmetall Defence Australia.

What You'll Learn
  • Software Engineering Fundamentals: Understand the principles of software engineering, including design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of computer software.
  • Defence Contracting Practices: Gain experience in analysing requirements, implementing software, and working through the development lifecycle of a defence contract.
  • GPS Data Formats and Interfaces: Learn about GPS data formats and interfaces, and how to work with them in a real-world scenario.
Virtual Experience Modules

The virtual experience consists of five modules, each designed to challenge and engage you in a realistic software engineering scenario.

  • Module 1: Requirements and Design - Develop a Sub-System Design Document based on client requirements.
  • Module 2: GPS Storage Service - Develop an application to convert from an NMEA interface to a GPX one, and solve errors that arise in the field.
  • Module 3: Error Handling - Implement a new feature for auditing and error handling.
  • Module 4: Overspeed - Implement a new feature for displaying sections and handling overspeed scenarios.
  • Module 5: Track Sections - Implement a new feature for displaying track sections and handling related challenges.
