Job SummaryWe are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Receiving Officer, responsible for verifying and maintaining records for incoming deliveries and accurately receiving goods into our automated system.
Key Responsibilities- Examine contents of deliveries and compare with records such as delivery dockets, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
- Record delivery data, such as weight, quantities, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
- Make remarks as required (i.e., boxes containing less than indicated, damages, and the nature of pilferage).
- Assist with placing goods in their allocated stores location as required during times of high demand.
- Correspond with suppliers to rectify problems, such as damages or non-conformance to specifications.
- Receipting of orders using computerized or manual methods for control of stock inventory.
- Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed, or late deliveries and other issues.
- Match supplier documentation such as delivery dockets and invoices to Purchase Orders and ensure sign-off within appropriate authority levels.
- Monitor delivery requirements to conform to company schedules and plans.
- Participate in end-of-month stock takes, ensuring all receipting is closed prior to the end of the month.
- Demonstrated success in a similar role.
- Forklift license preferred but not essential.
- Attention to detail and ability to solve system challenges in a timely manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and basic office procedures.
- Demonstrates strong organizational/time management skills.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a high-volume, high-value environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing or catering industry preferred but not essential.
