Transforming Mental Health Responses in the Community

We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician to take on a challenging role as a Mental Health Clinician for the Police, Ambulance and Clinical Early Response (PACER) service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is revolutionizing mental health responses in our community. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will collaborate with police, ambulance, and emergency department staff to provide timely community-based access to mental health assessment and management.

  • Provide mobile, recovery-oriented clinical advice, consultancy, and support to NSW Police managing mental health-related cases in the community.
  • Undertake triage, primary client assessment, and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level.
  • Facilitate appropriate diversion from emergency departments and inpatient care when possible.

You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical setting, providing timely and effective mental health triage, risk assessment, and intervention alongside emergency services. We encourage people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background to apply.

What You'll Need
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as per clinical discipline.
  • Clinical Nurse Consultant or Senior Psychologist or Occupational Therapist with full AHPRA registration or Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW with demonstrated expertise in the area of Mental Health.
