Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join our Airline Services Team. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice on operational, regulatory, procurement, and general commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing legal analysis and advice on critical projects, transactions, risks, and business initiatives
  • Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contracts in line with the Qantas Group's risk framework
  • Preparing submissions and advice on regulatory and other matters
Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in general corporate, regulatory, or commercial law disciplines
  • Training in a top-tier law firm or equivalent, with additional in-house experience in a large company considered favorable
  • Law degree with a current Practising Certificate in New South Wales or Victoria
  • Proven experience in corporate/commercial law disciplines, particularly contract drafting and negotiating, commercial advice, complex transactions (property and construction), litigation, regulatory safety & environment, but also privacy, consumer, competition, intellectual property, and technology
  • Ability to provide legal advice unsupervised while working collaboratively with internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of relating well to people at all levels in the organization
