Job Overview

The primary responsibility of this position lies in the preparation, sterilisation, storage and thermal disinfection of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment to prevent infection.

This role requires collaboration with a large team under routine supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation, sterilisation, storage and thermal disinfection of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant policy directives
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Completion of a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or equivalent qualification
  • Physically capable of duties including standing for long periods, lifting, pushing and pulling loads
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions from line management and senior staff and work independently under routine supervision
  • Ability to relate well to others and work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to apply a problem-solving approach to work tasks
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination
