Role Purpose

The Procurement Manager oversees a small team of Tactical Buyers, ensuring organized, compliant, and efficient operations. They also guarantee that physical flow and associated information align with internal customer needs and apply continuous improvement methods to enhance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchase requisitions, ensure compliance, and verify supplier consultation and quote analysis.
  • Transform purchase requests into orders and manage the order book.
  • Ensure optimal performance of physical flow and associated information.
  • Share business forecasts with suppliers and analyze risks.
  • Monitor supplier performance and internal customer satisfaction indicators, initiating corrective actions if necessary.
  • Manage interfaces within the entity and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks for incoming and outgoing flows.
  • Monitor raw material stock levels and coordinate deliveries to align with inventory targets, preventing stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Own the Purchasing Master Data and regular reviews to ensure the data aligns with the current business requirements and to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for HSE due diligence, monitoring the HSE management system, and driving sustainability and emissions reduction initiatives.

Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification supported by relevant experience, ideally in FMCG, Oil & Gas, and Defence environments.
  • Significant and relevant experience in a similar capacity within manufacturing, with exposure to a fast-moving, dynamic environment in a commercially driven organization, is preferable.
  • Proficiency in using ERP and understanding its underlying logic.
  • Fundamental understanding of Procurement and Production processes.
  • Basic knowledge of products and their manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with supply chain roles, inventory management, and flow management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving techniques.
  • Understanding of industrial/supply chain IT systems and utilization of dashboards for analysis and decision support.
  • Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence Clearances.
