About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker to provide care for a child with high needs in Wollongong.

">

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children, especially those with high needs, and be able to administer tube feeding and assist with other medical procedures as required under supervision.

Safety and well-being of the child is paramount, so we require our Support Worker to safely transport the child using a larger vehicle and maintain a clean and safe environment at all times.

">

In addition to this, the successful candidate will engage the child in age-appropriate activities to promote socialization and cognitive development, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the child's care plan is followed accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive and compassionate care to the child, meeting their physical, emotional, and developmental needs.">
  • Administer tube feeding and assist with any other medical procedures as required under supervision.">
  • Monitor and adjust the biPAP machine as necessary during the night.">
  • Safely transport the child using a larger vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.">
  • Engage the child in age-appropriate activities to promote socialization and cognitive development.">
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for the child at all times.">
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and therapists, to ensure the child's care plan is followed accurately.">

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Prior experience working with children, especially those with high needs.">
  • Nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.">
  • A valid full driver's license.">
  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written.">
  • The ability to provide care on weekends and holidays.">
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with disabilities.">
