About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Data Science to join our team at Canva. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our data science function and ensuring that we are leveraging our customer data effectively to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a vision for data science that aligns with Canva's broader strategic direction.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure that we have the right strategies, tools, and processes in place to drive commercial success.
  • Lead a team of data scientists to deliver high-impact projects and initiatives that drive business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business opportunities and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure that Canva remains at the forefront of data science innovation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading a data science team in a high-growth tech company.
  • Strong technical skills in data science, including machine learning, statistics, and data visualization.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive business outcomes.
  • Experience working with experimentation platforms and data warehousing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
