Job Description
The Position
This Mechanical Fitter position reports to the Team Leader and involves working on various global support groups, providing an opportunity to gain invaluable experience.
This role provides support to both scheduled and reactive maintenance services to plant operations and complies with systems and procedures to facilitate continuous improvement in asset utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate all work to ensure adherence to site health, safety, environmental, and community policies, systems, and procedures.
- Respond promptly to plant outages and equipment faults to maximize plant availability and safety.
- Ensure high-quality work execution and maintain accurate records in relevant maintenance recording systems for future reference.
- Initiate creation and updates to work procedures and instructions to guarantee accuracy and effectiveness.
- Report incidents in a timely manner and participate in analysis and investigations as required.
- Develop strong relationships with Operational, Reliability, and Planning Teams to support quality maintenance and equipment availability.
- Collaborate with internal/external customers to support feedback and continual improvement.
- Support work management processes through efficient defect reporting, adequate scoping of corrective works, and accurate confirmation of execution activities.
Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and fault-finding experience with the ability to respond to changing priorities.
- Extensive fixed-plant maintenance experience (5+ years) associated with Kilns, Ball Mills, Belt Filters, (Plate) Filter Presses, Centrifuges, Conveyors, Boilers, Pumps, and other fixed-plant equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with Precision Maintenance, including Laser Alignment of small and large rotating equipment.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- A proactive approach to resolving issues and excellent attention to detail.
- Computer literacy and exceptional communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Understanding of Change Management and Work Management Processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP systems are desirable.
Education / Qualification Requirements
- Australian recognized trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
- Current nationally accredited Confined Space Ticket.
- Current nationally accredited Working at Heights Ticket.
- Current High Risk qualifications are highly regarded (Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Rigging, Crane).
- Previous commissioning experience is highly regarded.
- Current WA C Class Driver's License as a minimum.
- Supervised Gas Fitter Ticket is desirable.
The estimated annual salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 AUD, depending on location and experience.
